How long have you been in business?
We have been in business since 1996.
What is your primary product or service?
Provide comprehensive financial planning, including estate, financial, investment, charitable, retirement, business, risk management and college planning solutions and implementation to current and prospective clients using various investments and insurance products. Also, present workshops to organizations and businesses.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We separate ourselves from our competition through our community involvement, professional leadership, unusual branding plan, client-centric approach, and integrity-first philosophy.
In addition, we have positioned ourselves as leaders in our industry and profession so that we can continue to make a positive difference, and best prepare our firm, our industry, and our community to prosper in the light of potentially paradigm-shifting changes.
Our leadership roles include positions as Presidents of the two leading industry organizations. Steve is President of the Regional chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), and Charlie serves as President of the Maryland Financial Planning Association (FPA). Furthermore, Steve was elected as the 2011 state NAIFA president. We also both hold the following licenses: NASD Series 7 (General Securities Representative), NASD Series 66 (Registered Investment Advisor) and Maryland Insurance Administration Life and Health Agent. Between the two of us, we hold the following designations: JD, LLM, Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, Certified Retirement Certified Senior Advisor, Registered Financial Consultant, Notary License for the State of Maryland.
Another strategy we adopted to separate ourselves from our competition and better serve our clients was to refuse to accept the recent negativity that engulfed�and continues to influence�our nation. This negativity resulted not just from ACTUAL economic challenges of the past year. We were also confronted with irrational and at times hysterical fear. The seeds of this fear were planted by actual economic distress, but fed by rhetoric from opportunistic, short-sighted, and panic-stricken leaders from the financial and political worlds, and fertilized by irresponsible and misleading media coverage. In response to this environment, which clearly paralyzed many in our profession, Aquino & Wolpoff engaged in its �Bloodless Revolution.� Our �revolutionary activity� consisted of reassuring the community that, with a renewed focus on taking personal responsibility for the financial basics, we could all survive and even prosper during difficult times. We communicated this message through our proactive conversations with our clients, financially educational and motivating workshops, and informative and entertaining weekly radio show.
